Steak Grilled Cheese

  • Ingredients:

1-2lbs Flank steak (thinly sliced)
2 tsp salt, garlic salt & pepper each
1 T oil
1 T Chili Powder
¼ tsp Onion Powder
1 ½ tsp Cumin
¼ tsp Garlic Powder
¼ tsp Dried Oregano
¼ tsp Red Pepper Flakes (finely crushed)
¼ C Red Bell pepper (chopped)
¼ C Green Bell pepper (chopped)
⅓ C Onion (chopped)
½ C Water
1 ½ C Mozzarella shredded
1 ½ C Provolone (or 2-4 slices per sandwich)
Sourdough Bread
2 T Butter

  • Directions:
  1. In a pan over HIGH heat add oil. Season steak with salt, garlic salt and pepper. When pan STARTS to begin smoking slightly, add steak. Toss, then let sit for 2 mins to brown. Toss again. Cook an additional 2 mins til almost cooked through. Lower heat to Medium.
  2. Add bell peppers and onions. Stir well and cook until onions are translucent and Bell peppers have softened.
  3. Next add remaining seasonings to a bowl, blend well. Add to steak, stir, then add water. Simmer for 5 mins to soften steak. Water should begin to absorb. Turn on low.
  4. In a separate large skillet add, butter over Med heat. Place 2 slices of sourdough bread in butter. Next add half your cheese directly to bread. Top with steak mixture. Add remaining cheese. Place Sourdough bread on top and press down with a spatula. Flip over after about 2-3 mins, cover and let cheese melt. Serve hot ❤ Enjoy!
